First of all, this is not to clout nor offend people for being one. These three have the same goal: to SAVE MONEY. That is already a good head start, Congratulations! The purpose of identifying which one you are is awareness and whether you are actually working towards your goal or not.
Let's create a hypothetical situation: SM Appliance Centre is going to have a massive sale tomorrow! Almost 70% off the prices in all gadgets and electrical appliances from cellphones, televisions, refrigerators, etc!
A Frugal Person takes a look at her budget and see if she saved enough for that television that she meant to buy for a long time. Her budget isn't quite there yet but she heads off to the sale to see if the one she really likes is on sale, that would be a good deal. Unfortunately, it wasn't part of the sale so she goes home and waits until she has saved enough or wait for the next sale and check again.
A Thrifty Person checks if any of her appliances is in dire need of replacement first. Her television has weird annoying thin lines at the top of the screen but she tells herself that she can still watch her favourite telenovela and Netflix shows. She tried to fix it by looking at youtube DIY videos in the past but with no luck so she calls an electrician for an appointment to fix that issue. She doesn't go to the appliance shop.
A Cheap Person would go the sale right away! That 10,000 PHP 40" LED Television is too hard to pass! That's whooping ~70% discount from from 33,000 PHP! She doesn’t care about the quality or checked for the specifications. And btw, she still has a working television at home.
